Your Session, Your Rules
Here's a promise I make to every woman who walks through my door: you will never be pushed beyond your comfort zone.
Not by me. Not by the session. Not by anyone.
This experience is yours. You set the pace.
Sophie's story captures this perfectly. When she booked her first session years ago, she was self-conscious about her weight. She ended up doing most of the shoot fully dressed. The most revealing thing she wore was a full-length silk robe. And that was completely fine.
"Matt was super accommodating and I didn't once feel any pressure to wear or do anything I didn't want to," she told me.
No disappointment. No subtle nudging toward something more revealing. Just respect for where she was in that moment.
Years later, Sophie returned for a second session, this time feeling more confident and ready for something different. That second shoot was "way more steamy," in her words, and she loved every moment of it.
Both sessions were right for her at the time. Both were valid. Both produced beautiful photographs.
That's what I mean when I say no pressure.
Zara described me as "professional and relaxed whilst also being flexible and accommodating to the requests I asked of him." She had specific ideas about what she wanted, and I made them happen.
This flexibility extends beyond clothing choices. It shapes the entire experience. The pace. The energy. The style. Some women want slow, intimate, and soft. Others want bold and playful. Some want a blend of both. All of it is possible because you're the one guiding.
Grace had done two boudoir sessions with other photographers before working with me. She said this one felt different: "From the first chat we had in his studio to his regular check-ins, he got to know exactly what style I was wanting and I knew exactly what was going to happen next."
That clarity matters. You should never feel surprised, confused, or pushed into anything.
My role is to create a space where you can explore your own edges, whatever those edges look like for you. Maybe it's wearing something you've never worn before. Maybe it's holding eye contact with the camera. Maybe it's simply allowing yourself to feel beautiful.
Whatever your version of brave looks like, I'll meet you there.
No pressure. No expectations. Just space for you to be exactly who you are.
