Frequently Asked Questions About Belle-Vous Photography

What is your style?

My boudoir photography work is creative, contemporary and inspired through you! Getting to know you during a in-person pre-consultation and talking about what you want makes it possible for me to bring your vision to life. Some women are attracted towards my fine art black & white boudoir images, while other women are drawn to my modern sensual boudoir photographs. I will work hard to create the photographs you want! You can decide to either stick to a particular overall look all through the session or I can create a mixture of all of them, it’s up to you!

What is the cost and what is included?

A booking free of $50 is required upon booking to secure your time and date and includes makeup & hair, the use of our studio and a 2-3 hour photo shoot. Prints, albums, and digital images are purchased separately. You can follow the link below to see our Boudoir Collections which includes detailed pricing for your options.

I am not my ideal weight, can you still get good photos of me?

The modern interpretation of boudoir is all about finding out what your femininity looks like. Not trying to twist you into what the media thinks you should be. Boudoir sessions are all about capturing what makes you unique. Your curves. Your smile. Everything that make you beautifully unique and perfect.

Can I come meet you and see the studio before our session?

Yes of course! We can set up a time to meet at the studio for an in-person consultation prior to your session.

Who will be in the room during my session?

Just me (Matthew) the photographer and the Makeup artist (Mel), will be there. You may also choose to bring a friend for moral support if you want!

Can my friends and I do sessions on the same day?

Yes you and your friend can book group boudoir sessions up to a max of three people per group. It’s great to have a friend there to support you and make a party out of it. It’s great to someone close to you that and offer support during your session. Boudoir photography is so common now it’s totally normal to bring a friend along.

Do you provide outfits? Or do I bring mine?

We have been slowly filling out our in-studio lingerie selection, but I encourage you to bring your own lingerie and wardrobe as well. This is great opportunity to go shopping right? We don’t have bra and knickers sets so definitely bring a minimum of 1-2 sets with you. Check out our tips below for ideas on what to bring and local lingerie store recommendations.

I don’t know how to pose, will you help?

Definitely! I always give very easy to follow directions and coach you from your facial expression down to the placement of your fingers. I never say vague directions like “look sexy” or “work the camera” or any other like that!

How long before I get to see the pictures?

You can see your pictures on the same day! After your session you can go get to take a relaxing lunch/coffee break at a local cafe while your images are edited. When you return they will be ready to view!

How long does it take for the finished product to be ready after my session?

Your finished art work is delivered 3-6 weeks after the date of your session.

I have cellulite/stretch marks/acne. Can you get rid of that?

The removal of cellulite, stretchmarks, acne, blemishes, bruises, scratches, veins and is part of the retouching process and included in the cost of your purchase.

How long does the session last?

The whole day from start to end will be around 5-6 hours in total. Hair and makeup lasts about 1.5 hours, the photo shoot by itself is 2 hours, and then you get to take a 1 hour break for lunch/coffee while I edit your images. When you return it normally takes around 1 hour to pick out your absolute favourite boudoir images! You can view the link below for more information about the process and day of the session. Please note, if you and a friend/s are doing sessions on the same date, plan on the day lasting about 7-8 hours in total.
